OBITUARY...
Pamela (Pam) Skorpik passed away on January 31st, 2013 at the age of 61 in Kennewick, WA after a short, courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 19th, 1951 in El Paso, Texas to Charles and Nancy Boldt.
Pam and her husband Jim moved to the Tri-Cities in 1972 where they raised their three daughters; Ari, Bria and Jori. Jim and Pam met in college at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where Pam was a math major and a cheerleader. They were married in 1971 while Jim was in the US Army stationed in El Pasco, Texas.
Pam started her Tri-Cities professional career at Battelle and then soon branched into the health career profession where she worked for the next 40 years, supporting an orthodontics office and lastly an oral surgeon’s practice.
Pam’s true calling was being a devoted and loving mother to her three girls in all aspects of life and at all times. She was indeed gifted with an inherent trait to be there for them and to guide them in their growth from childhood, to college and into young, self-achieving women.
Her greatest love over the last eight years was given to her by becoming a grandmother to three wonderful grandchildren, Jake, Avery and Taylor. She gave up her Wednesday work days to be their nanny and those days were full of the most special moments that she took to heaven with her. She lived a grandmother’s lifetime in those short, eight special years.
Pam was exceptionally proud of her three girls—Ari, a Systems Analyst at Battelle, Bria, a CPA in Beverly Hills and Jori, a college student at St Martin’s University who is on the basketball team and majoring in math and computer science. They gave her special memories and she gave them a wonderful role model and friend.
Pam is survived by her husband of 41 years Jim Skorpik, her 3 daughters Ari (Tony) Schumacher of Kennewick, Washington, Bria (Loren) Riehl of Hermosa Beach, California, and Jori Skorpik of Lacey, Washington; her 4 treasured grandchildren Jake, Avery and Taylor Schumacher and soon-to-be-born baby Riehl; and her mother Nancy Boldt of Rapid City, South Dakota. She is also survived by her sisters Stephanie Andersen of Omaha, Nebraska, Penny Kirkeby of Anchorage, Alaska and Lori Fitzgerald of Helena, Montana; and her niece and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Boldt.
