OBITUARY...
Connie Rae (Norman) Kandaras, 69, a long-term resident of Rapid City, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Born on February, 6, 1950 in Hot Springs, SD, Connie graduated from Rapid City High School in 1968 and attended Black Hills Beauty College. She was a practicing Beautician and Cosmetologist in Rapid City and Kossuth County Iowa.

Connie was married to Homer Kandaras on August 8, 1995 in Rapid City. The couple lived the remainder of their lives in Rapid City.

Connie’s volunteer work at local care facilities was her chosen mission in life. Her hobbies included gardening and arts & crafts. Connie enjoyed socializing with neighbours, family and friends and engaging in civic activities. She will be long remembered for her compassionate stewardship.

Connie was preceded in death by her father, Emory Elvin Norman, and her husband Homer Kandaras. She is survived by her mother, Evon Rose Glover Norman; brothers, Ernest (Susan) Norman and Earl (Jane) Norman; step children, Lesley (Jon Hunter) Kandaras and Michael Kandaras; and many aunts, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Kirk Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City.
