OBITUARY...
On January 15, 2018, Patsy was called home to Heaven. She had fought a hard, long battle with cancer and after 10 years the cancer finally won.

Patsy was born on March 17, 1949 to John and Hazel(Petoske) Melvin in Rapid City, SD. Patsy grew up in Rapid City and graduated from Rapid City High School in 1968. Growing up she had nine other siblings. She met the love of her life in 1971 while he was in the US Air Force. From then on Patsy and Tom Sitzler were inseparable and the two of them became married on January 5, 1973. From that marriage came three boys. Tom(Shirley), Tim, and Allan(Neasha). Patsy was proud to be grandma to Keirslyn, Easton, and Tyler.

Patsy enjoyed spending time with her family, going on family vacations to Cleveland because that is where her husband, Tom, was from. She also got quite involved with genealogy and spending time in her yard planting flowers and taking care of her garden. Patsy also really enjoyed listening to her husband, Tom, play drums. She also took interest in each of her boys’ activities. She watched her oldest son, Tom, play the tenor saxophone and swim competitively, she listened to Tim playing trumpet and watched him bowl, and she also enjoyed watching Allan play baseball.

Patsy is survived by her sister Judy Gray, brother John(Debbie) Melvin, brother Pat Melvin, sister Joan, sister Mary(Bob) Miller, sister LeAnne(Ed) Husman, sister Karen(Adrian) Vroegindewey. Patsy is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

Patsy was proceeded in death by her parents, two younger brothers, a brother in law, and a nephew.

A visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Black Hills Church from 5-7pm and the Christian Wake Service will be at 7pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018 and there will be the opportunity to share stories afterward. A Christian Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 19, will begin at 1:30pm with interment at the Black Hills National Cemetery.

A memorial will be established to the Hemophilia Foundation of America.
