50th reunion commentUS Navy 68 to 72 . Then Long Beach State College, AA degree . Worked in the off shore oil industry from 1975-2016 as a Sub Sea Engineer. Worked all over the world, spent the last 10 years in Houston TX. Retired and am now a full time RVer , Rapid in the summer and somewhere else warm in the winter.

Jim Ronald Bjornstad died february 25th, 2025… Jim was born in Rapid City, SD in 1950, to George and Stella Mae Bjornestad. Jim attended schools in Rapid City, SD and graduated from Rapid City High School in 1968. After graduating high school, Jim joined the Navy with 4 years of service. During his Navy service he was a Machinist Mate. In 1972 Jim began his studies at Long Beach City College in California. Upon graduation Jim was employed with Global Marine/Trans Ocean where he had a long and distinguished career of 40 years. Upon retirement Jim enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time at Lake Powell every summer with family and friends, along with many more great adventures.
He is survived by Son Matthew (Janelle) Bjornestad of Grand Junction, CO. Grand children: David & Katalinna Bjornestad with son Liam of Canmer, KY, Nolan Bjornstad of Pensacola, FL, Saharah Bjornestad with sons Emerson, Matteo of Grand Junction, CO. Daylinn Bjornestad (Tyler Wells) with son Casen of Grand Junction, CO. Grateful for having shared his life with numerous close family and friends. Know we LOVE YOU MOST!
James was preceded in death by his parents, George and Stella Mae Bjornestad, Brother Jerry Bjornestad, and sister Marilyn Paris.
