OBITUARY...
Richard J. “Stu” Radlinger, 59, Rapid City, completed his journey on this earth Thursday, August 6, 2009, at Rapid City Regional Hospital Hospice House.

He was born Nov. 26, 1949 in Rapid City, the son of Frank and Donna (Naeve) Radlinger. He grew up in Rapid City and graduated from Rapid City High School in 1968. Stu was employed as a projector operation by the local theaters in Rapid City. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971.

Following military service he returned to Rapid City and was married to Vicki Haines in April 1973. The couple had two children, Justin J. Radlinger and Joni Ray Radlinger. He lived and worked in Phoenix and Denver for a time, returning to Rapid City in 1992. He was employed in the construction industry, retiring in 1994 due to failing health. He served as his brother, David’s caretaker for a number of years.

He is survived by his son, Justin J. Hukill, Phoenix; his daughter Joni McLaughlin and her husband Anthony of Phoenix; one grandson, Logan Anthony McLaughlin; his mother, Donna Haberle, Rapid City; a sister, Teri Elliott and her husband Bart of Rapid City; and four brothers, David Radlinger, Dennis Radlinger and his wife Debra, Dan Radlinger and Mike Radlinger and his wife Barb, all of Rapid City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Radlinger.

A visitation/reception will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with the Rev. Bill Zandri officiating. Military honors will be provided by Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the South Dakota National Guard. Friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home prior to departure to the cemetery at 10:15 a.m. Monday. A memorial has been established for Hospice of the Hills.
